Hot, Dry July
Although summertime in Arkansas is always very dry, it is already far too dry for this time of year.
Tomato and Cukes
One of the year's first tomatoes, and some of the better cucumbers.
Sudan Grass
The Sudan Grass is doing well, as it always does in the hot and dry. The poor lawn grass in the foreground looks pathetic.
Upper Garden
The upper garden doesn't seem to be living up to the potential it had earlier this year.
Squash
The squash looks terrible, but is still producing well.
Cleo
Cleo is resting in the shade, but still looks hot.
Roadrunner
The roadrunner even looks hot.
Wildflowers
Most wildflowers are still doing well.

Fallen Tree
The wind blew over a tree near the garden this morning. The tree had been rotting on the inside after losing a limb in a storm several years ago, and finally weakened to the point it couldn't hold its own weight.
After I cut it down, but before I was finished cutting it up, the roadrunner came along to see what was going on. It hopped up on the tree and nosed around for awhile, and didn't even run off very far when I started the chainsaw back up.

New Potatoes
June 01 is Annual Potato Day at DOMO Garden, and it is also Dad's birthday. This happy coincidence means he always gets the year's first new potatoes with his birthday meal.

Frogs
The goldfish pond has attracted lots of frogs that hop in the water with a loud peep whenever anyone gets close.
Vegetable Garden
The 'upper' garden on May 28.
Bleeding Heart
I know that 'begging hands and bleeding hearts will only cry out for more,' but these are just growing nicely and quietly in a flowerbed. ; )
Cleo
Cleo lounges around on a rock.
